Vodafone is always a front runner in issues of corporate social responsibility. Part of their ongoing CSR activities is the World of Difference initiative. A truly innovative approach to CSR, Vodafone finances a number of individuals to do their dream job in an NGO of their choice for an entire year. The viral mechanism that was developed was an application that run in the vodafone.gr website and allowed users to personalize a pair of email templates. Following a few steps users could enter their own images and text. Finaly they could send their creation to multiple friends and family. Adding a personal touch to each invitation increased the impact of the messages to the recipients and provided an opportunity for this programme to be virally communicated by the users themselves. The World of Difference campaign was hosted within the Vodafone.gr website. All necessary brand guidelines were strictly followed and applied.
