Depeche Mode are a very popular band in Greece. So it’s no surprise that when they performed live in Athens, there was an amazing turnout. People slept at the venue from the night before in order to make sure they were in the front row of the concert. Vodafone, grand sponsor of the event, wanted to promote the Depeche Mode Vodafone Live page at the concert. Vodafone users could download, for free, for the limited duration of the concert, via Vodafone Live!, exclusive Depeche Mode mobile content. The challenge was to push traffic to vodafone live during the concert. We developed a mechanism through which users received mobile content that promoted the free Vodafone Live! downloads and pushed traffic to the site. By distributing WAP links via bluetooth, as well as mobile content informing of the offer, Vodafone users were encouraged to visit Vodafone Live's! Depeche Mode page. Working with proximity marketing leader and innovator Hypertag, promoters dispersed into the crowd, gave the fans the opportunity to download unique, premium content of their favourite band, directly to their phone.
