Interactive digital media gives us the opportunity to enrich shoppers’ experiences if its targeted. In order to create awareness for the product in a shopping environment we designed a bluetooth instant win mechanism rewarding consumers for visiting the promo areas. Instead of giving out coupons or paper leaflets which passers by end up throwing away or pay little attention to, Vivartia decided to use proximity marketing to engage consumers of the No. 1 chocolate milk brand Milko. In cooperation with RMG Connect we developed a mechanism where by after being welcomed to the Milko branded space, visitors who opted in to download Milko mobile content, took part in an instant win competition by simply activating their Bluetooth connection of their mobile device. Randomly generated Win messages were distributed to visitors who opted in to download. These were timed accordingly so winners were distributed evenly throughout the day. The lucky ones received their prizes on the spot, which included digital cameras, MP3 players and other cool prizes. The other less lucky visitors received free branded mobile content and as much sample product they could handle.
